ANDY KAHN is committed to preserving “The Great American Songbook.” His “Music by Intention” concerts are the result of decades spent researching popular standard songs which evolved into Swing and Jazz—America’s enduring contribution to the Arts.
THE performance
ANDY guides his audiences on a musical romp through the historic Golden Age of American Music by performing songs by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart, Harry Warren, Johnny Mercer, Sammy Cahn & Jimmy van Heusen and other legendary songwriters from this musical era.
THE PATH
Andy presents live-onstage lectures, teaches private lessons to students and has served as Music Director for veteran Hollywood television/film star, vocalist Peggy King. He is a Steinway Spirio Artist and serves as an active Voting Member for The “Grammy” Recording Academy Organization. In January, 2019, Andy’s musical memoir “The HOT SHOT Heard ‘Round The World” was published and released by BearManor Media. His book is available in Paperback, Hardcover, Kindle, Digital Download and AudioBook formats.
ROOTS
Adding charisma and charm to a vast song repertoire, Andy offers anecdotes about the composers whose focused intention was to help shape American ideals and attitudes during the first half of the twentieth century. Performing a genre which has survived more than a hundred years, he’s raised impressive sums for charitable institutions.
